- First - Make a copy of this disk for backup. You MUST use the dos
- DISKCOPY command to make this copy. The COPY command will
- not transfer the "placeholder" directory entries which are
- used to make room for the system files which will be transfered
- by the SYS command.
- Second - Place this disk (or the backup copy) in drive b: . Place
- your IBM DOS 1.1 disk in drive a: . If you have a single
- disk system consult the "Guide to Operations" for the
- correct proceedures.
- Third - Boot the system normally. At the dos prompt A> type the
- following: b:setup<enter>. Sit back and watch. Do what the
- screen tells you. GL de AA4L

- ***NOTES*** This disk is a distribution master written by DOS 1.1
- in 160kb single sided format. It is arranged for transfer of the
- DOS 1.1 system to the disk by the <sys> command, which is part of the
- setup batch file. I asked for a blank disk. if you sent me a formatted
- disk in double side or dos 2.0 format, you may have a disk that your
- system will not be able to read. I caught some of the formatted disks
- and degaussed them. I don't know whether this program will run under
- 2.0 . The setup batch file will probably not work correctly. If you run
- 2.0, I suggest that you copy all files on the disk, except setup.bat,
- to a system disk which contains BASICA.COM . The programs should run
- under that condition, but I have'nt checked it out. Sorry if you have
- had to wait. The response to my note in QST has been overwhelming. I
- have spent many hours making and mailing disks. I have not been able to
- write answers to questions in some cases. If you sent me a
- stamped self addressed mailer, you got priority. If I had to lick
- stamps and stick labels or build a mailer out of masking tape and
- cardboard, you went to the bottom of the pile. Sorry about that,
- but I have had to put quite a bit of time into this volunteer
- effort. If you have questions, I suggest you call me at 919 847 5606
- evenings. I will answer letters with an sase -- EVENTUALLY. I would
- appreciate your sending me a note to let me know how you made out
- and what you thought of the programs.
